The author examines the role and place of the army
and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in formation of Turkey's foreign policy in the second half of XX – early XXI centuries.
Special attention is paid to the period of rule of the Justice and
Development Party, which came to power in 2002, headed by
Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The article emphasizes that in the recent
years, both the army and the Turkish Foreign Ministry were
actually pushed into the background, and the administration of
the President of the country came to the forefront in the matters
of foreign policy of the Republic.
