The article reveals the meaning of the geopolitical term
“Shiite crescent”. This term is used to refer to the region of the spread of
Shiism in the Middle East. At present, Iran which is trying to create a
broad coalition of states where the majority of the population is Shiites is
claiming strategic dominance in the “Shiite crescent”.
