Until recently, when considering the position of the
Arab countries in relation to Russia, it was necessary to take into
account their ties with the United States. Today the situation has
changed. At the same time, the “Arab street” is predictably supporting
Russia. The formation of a more independent view of the ruling elites on
what is happening in Ukraine has become a new factor in Middle East
politics. A comparative analysis of the policies of Lebanon, Syria, and
Jordan makes it possible to understand the factors that influenced the
development of the positions of these countries regarding the SMO.
